Fender has opted to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in recognition of the crucial part local spots had in his beginning days.
"As an artist wouldn't be doing my current career if it wasn't for all the gigs I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," stated Sam Fender. "These locations are renowned, but they are struggling."
Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these locations have permanently closed – about one-sixth of the total UK scene.
Recently, top acts including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its efforts to help venues survive, by applying a small levy to their admission fees, which goes to help smaller concert halls.
Sam Fender also participated, raising in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support 38 grassroots venues across England, Scotland, and Wales.
The donation helped spaces that were confronting potential shutdown due to difficulties arising from flooding, fires and family tragedies, as well as regulatory hurdles, legal disputes and sound issues.
Some locations obtained funding support in improving infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that helped artists and concertgoers.
"The idea that money from shows in major spaces backs the independent spots, where it begins for musicians like me, is just logical," Fender has commented.
He is far from the only musician to donate his award funds to worthy causes.

In recent years, they contributed their funds to the youth organization that nurtured their act, in addition to other grassroots music organisations.
Additionally 1994 winners M People contributed their winnings to a MS organization after a friend was identified with the condition.
"Receiving the award was quite enough," stated singer Heather Small. "The money was the extra but we didn't require the bonus, because we had the honor. So our winning affected the lives of others."
Recently, the trust shared it had saved several small stages in the South East, by bringing them into community ownership.
The Joiners in that area and the second in the city were bought under the public acquisition initiative, which is funded by a national body and supporters who acquire "shares" in the properties.
